Every one seems to love the Battle Rifle, its the first thing they look for and they ‘claim’ it is the weapon that requires the most skill.
I am tired of it, the BR (Battle Rifle) is the cheapest weapon to ever grace the game of halo, why? I here you say, well I have the following criticism.
Rate of fire
This weapon has a high rate of fire that is almost equal to the Assault Rifle, allowing the weapon to strip a shield in a second.
Burst fire
This is the crux of the matter, as you may well know the BR can kill in a single head shot on an unshielded opponent this at first doesn’t seem so bad at first as other weapons do this as well like the magnum or the sniper rifle but those weapons are semi-automatic where as the BR fires in three round bursts which means the user can spam bullets in the general direction of the head to score easy head shots.
These points make the BR essentially a power weapon like the sniper rifle.
The BR is not so bad even with these characteristics that I have pointed out when the BR is a rarity on maps but now we see more “BR start” game types appearing where you cant take two steps with out being killed in 4 burst from the other side of the map.
So what does this leave us with?
A game where over half of the weapons are ignored, weapons such as the plasma rifle, spike rifle. plasma pistol, magnum, smg, brute shot and carbines because to the BR user these weapons don’t compare to the ‘power weapon’ he spawns with and so will only pick up other power weapons.
